Annual Donation Helps Support Families in Need of Flights to Specialized Healthcare Facilities

Trevose, PA – January 10, 2012 – Airclic, a global provider of software that transforms the accuracy, efficiency and competitiveness of mobile supply chain and logistics operations, today announced that it has made its fourth annual donation, on behalf of its customers, to the Air Charity Network, providing access for people in need to specialized health care facilities or destinations due to family, community or national crisis.

“Our team understands the importance of turning business success into charitable community work,” said Mike Lee, CEO, Airclic. “We are honored to be able to provide the Air Charity Network with this donation as a token of our admiration and appreciation for the commendable work that they do each and every day for families in need.”

The Air Charity Network arranges flights for people in need of medical care, as well as flights for military families and disaster response missions. Every 24 minutes a person is flown through the generous volunteer and donor resources of Air Charity Network, which is comprised of seven independent member organizations identified by specific geographical service areas.

“We are honored to, once again, be the recipients of Airclic’s holiday donation,” said Larry Camerlin, President of Angel Flight Northeast and member of Air Charity Network. “Because passengers are never charged for flights and our organization exists solely through donations, the ongoing generosity from donors like Airclic is truly what allows Air Charity to continue to help those in need.”

Happy New Year! It’s a great time to be making resolutions in both your personal and professional life. We went ahead and identified a few resolutions to consider for your business operations this year:

1) Remove Paper

Companies can save up to $400 per truck, per month by removing paper and paper processing costs from the delivery process, and reducing delivery errors by more than 65 percent. That is significant cost savings to a company’s bottom line over the course of one year.

2) Reduce Mistakes

Keep your customers happy by ensuring that they get what they ordered, when they ordered it each and every time. The cost of credits and lost items can really add up, but the cost of a customer is tremendous. Make sure you’re mistake-free with functionalities such as proof of delivery and signature capture.

3) Work faster

Automate cumbersome paper-based processes, increase communication and streamline operations with mobile technology. Doing your job faster will increase customer retention and save money for your business.

How will your company be improving its supply chain this year? Leave us a comment below.

Thanks!

Annual FL100 listing highlights leading software and technology providers

Trevose, PA — December 15, 2011 — Airclic, a global provider of software that transforms the accuracy, efficiency and competitiveness of mobile supply chain and logistics operations, today announced it was included on the eighth-annual FL100 listing by Food Logistics Magazine, the only publication dedicated exclusively to the grocery and foodservice distribution supply chain.

Each year, the editors of Food Logistics recognize 100 software and technology providers that better enable grocery and foodservice distributors and manufacturers to realize their business goals. This year, the publication focused on solution providers that are helping their customers differentiate themselves in the marketplace, while simultaneously facilitating improved safety and traceability throughout the supply chain.

“With the passage of the FDA’s landmark Food Safety and Modernization Act, the entire food and beverage sector is under increased pressure to improve safety and traceability throughout the supply chain. In addition, the ongoing globalization of food supply chains demands closer collaboration with suppliers and enhanced visibility from farm to fork,” notes Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief at Food Logistics. “Technology is a powerful tool that can ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and serve as a market differentiator in today’s highly competitive environment.”

“As the FDA continues to pass new regulations and enhanced supply chain visibility becomes even more imperative, the entire food industry will need to adapt to the changing landscape, and the FL100 is an excellent resource for the industry on the leading technology available,” said Mike Lee, CEO of Airclic. “Our Cloud-based mobile supply chain software, Food Perform®, provides foodservice distributors with complete visibility into their operations – allowing them to trace products, reduce costs and gain a competitive advantage in the evolving market.”

The FL100 recipients are featured in the November/December 2011 issue of Food Logistics, as well as online at www.foodlogistics.com.

Great news! Food Logistics Magazine has selected Airclic for inclusion in the 2011 FL100 Listing, which highlights software and technology providers that allow grocery and foodservice distributors and manufacturers to realize their business goals.

This year, the publication focused on solution providers that are helping their customers differentiate themselves in the marketplace, while simultaneously facilitating improved safety and traceability throughout the supply chain, in wake of the passing of the Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA).

FSMA has played a key role in the food industry this past year, as companies are now searching for new ways to increase visibility into their supply chains to ensure their products are being delivered fresh and safe for consumers. Companies are looking to advanced mobile supply chain technologies to trace items through the entire distribution process, in an effort to prevent spoilage and also meet compliance standards. Mobile software, such as Airclic’s Food Perform®, is a key solution for the future of the food industry.

The complete FL100 listing is featured in the November/December 2011 issue of Food Logistics, as well as online at www.foodlogistics.com.

What are your thoughts on FSMA? Leave us a comment below.

Competition across the logistics industry is stiff, and the need to gain an advantage over competitors is a legitimate concern to nearly every business. One of the most effective ways for businesses to stay ahead of the pack is to automate its supply chain and logistics operations, recognizing that the longer they keep dumping paper onto their customers and increasing customer costs and ‘paper burden,’ the more difficult it will be to retain that account.

Here are three big ways that automating supply chain and logistics operations can provide your business and your customers business with the competitive edge necessary to stay on top:

1 – Improve Accuracy

Empower your drivers to be 100% accurate on every order, on every stop, on every route. By totally eliminating paper, allow for an increase in accuracy and on-time deliveries, as well as customer satisfaction and retention.

2 – Increase Efficiency

Automating the “last mile” of the distribution process and removing paper processes, allows businesses to significantly improve efficiency. Drivers are able to do their job without being bogged down by paper manifests. Automation of the driver’s transactions with customers eliminates manual back office tasks, activities and costs leading to an overly more efficient organization.

3 – Reduce Costs

By eliminating paper and paper processing costs and reducing delivery errors, businesses can save up to $400 per truck per month. Businesses using mobile supply chain software can see an ROI in as quickly as six months.

Have questions on how mobile supply chain software can give your business a competitive advantage? Leave us a comment below or contact us to set up an appointment.

One of the biggest breakthroughs in mobile software is the evolution of Software as a Service (SaaS), or “Cloud” technology. Cloud or SaaS-based technologies offer a host of advantages for many businesses, but why should it matter to you? For companies with supply chain and logistics operations, here is my list of the Top 5 Reasons To Go SaaS:

Rapid Deployment – When rolling out SaaS, there is no need for interruptions to your daily business operations or to have to wait for servers to be installed. Because SaaS technology is hosted at a remote site by a vendor, it is much quicker and easier to deploy and integrate than traditional applications. In fact, with SaaS products, you can generally implement a mobile solution within 4-8 weeks.

Cost-Effective – Because this software lives “in the cloud,” there are long-term financial savings associated with the SaaS model. Costs associated with maintenance, supporting hardware, IT infrastructure, licensing, and staffing are minimized. Additionally, when comparing the price of on-premise software versus SaaS, businesses must consider the elimination of the disruption in operations that occurs whenever traditional software goes through a major update.

Accessibility – SaaS technology can be accessed from anywhere at anytime, allowing your mobile workers to quickly and reliably retrieve real-time, synchronized applications and data from their device at any point while they are in the field.

Automatic Upgrades - Vendors regularly and automatically upgrade software, eliminating the end-user’s responsibility for installing and running applications locally on their mobile devices or laptop computers. This not only simplifies the user experience, but also eliminates the burdens of software maintenance, ongoing operation or support.

Reliability – Because of features including 24/7/365 support and extensive network redundancy, SaaS is far more dependable than utilizing local servers, ensuring both the application availability and sufficient performance on which successful businesses operate.

Has your business gone to “the cloud” yet? Do you have questions about SaaS or Cloud-based technologies? Let us know in the comments below.

Thanks,

As the Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA) begins to take effect, the FDA has announced the implementation of two new pilot projects that will enhance the agency’s and industry’s ability to trace products responsible for foodborne illness outbreaks.

The pilots, one involving produce and one involving processed foods, will evaluate methods and technologies for the rapid and effective tracing of foods, including types of data that are useful to connect various points in the supply chain.

This is a monumental step for the food industry and mobile supply chain software, as it provides the ability to monitor food through every step of the distribution process. Here are a few key features that mobile supply chain software offers the food industry:

Rapid Response

The ability to know exactly where your product is in the event of a recall is critical for being able to take immediate action. Mobile supply chain software provides real-time data and tracking information, allowing food manufacturers to respond to a recall quickly and efficiently.

Cost Control

Recalls have a negative impact on a food manufacturer’s bottom line and reputation among consumers. Mobile technology helps ensure that manufacturers and distributors are fully prepared for a recall. When a crisis is averted or quickly addressed, the associated costs and damages are significantly reduced.

Inventory Tracking

Real-time expiration alerts available through mobile software products built specifically for the food industry simplify the identification of products that are nearly expired, and provide the ability to have them transferred to another location that will use them immediately — preventing spoilage and possible contamination.

Accurately tracking food at every step of the distribution process — where it was picked, what box it went into and where it is going — facilitates rapid response to adverse events and is a necessary adjunct to the industry’s investment in safe processing protocols.

What are your thoughts on the new FDA pilots? Leave us a comment below.

Thanks,
