One of the largest barriers to effectively maximizing your mobile software investment is ensuring your employees adopt the solution. When employees don’t understand or embrace a new technology, productivity can decrease – when the original objective for the project was to spur productivity and cost savings.

To ensure seamless implementation within the desired timeframe, we leverage our proven methodology for deployment, which has been perfected over the course of a decade, with the help of our customers.

Here’s a look into the steps we take to ensure seamless integration of our products with your team and overall operations.

1) Opportunity Assessment (OA): At the start of the sales cycle, we develop an OA, in order to document our process improvement recommendations, based on industry best practices.

2) Implementation Planning Session (IPS): In depth planning sessions ensure that we understand our customers’ specific business requirements for product configuration so we can properly plan a successful implementation. This stage also ensures that your team has a clear understanding and complete visibility into the process.

3) Implementation: As your product implementation begins, Airclic adheres to a formal project governance process that provides controls, status reporting and adherence to the documented plan. Because of this, we can ensure all tasks and task owners are accounted for, helping to mitigate risk and project escalations.

4) Results: The combination of quality cloud-based products and a fast on-boarding process allows Airclic customers to see a return on their investment within just 4-6 months.

Have questions about our implementation method? Leave us a comment below.

Thanks!

I have been having some very intriguing conversations lately with potential customers about packaged mobile solutions and cloud-based products. It has made me realize that many providers are calling themselves “cloud-based” and “packaged” when in reality, they are not.

It’s no surprise why providers want to look like they offer cloud-based, packaged products. The benefits are significant, especially when it comes to cost, implementation, and scalability.

That said, I thought it would be beneficial to offer a few questions to ask your potential provider to see if they are actually in the cloud AND offer a packed, not a custom-built product. The bottom line – if it is a packaged product it can be delivered in the cloud, if it is custom built, it cannot.

But sometimes things aren’t always articulated clearly for everyone involved. In that case – ask these questions and you’ll be sure to get your answer.

1. Is this a cloud solution or hosted solution?

Contrary to popular opinion hosted does not mean cloud. The provider could be hosting one-off code based solutions per customer. The very next question should be, “is this custom built?” If so, it is not a cloud-based product.

2. How quickly can I complete implementation?

If the provider does not give you a response that is quick – such as a matter of days or weeks, it is likely a custom build product and you’re looking at a very expensive, timely project.

3. Will my solution be able to be updated regularly, without downtime and without additional costs?

If the provider answers no, their solution is not cloud-based.

Don’t hesitate to ask these questions. It is important you know what you are buying and do not caught up in a more expensive and timely mobile project than intended.

Thanks for checking in!

In the retail space, when a shipment is lost, misplaced or damaged, it is not only detrimental to the company’s reputation, it is costly. The cost of a lost or damaged shipment usually falls on the 3PL making the delivery. When it comes to high-end retail items that are handcrafted or designer made, this could cost up to 20 times the amount of an average shipment. When it comes to high-end merchandise – delivering the “perfect” order has never been more critical.

3PLs often ask themselves, is serving these customers worth the risk?

The answer lies in the ability to see where the item is at each step in the supply chain. This becomes challenging specifically with high-end merchandise because these products are typically distributed internationally, being transported from air to sea to the ground.

By automating the supply chain with mobile software, retailers are able to track each item through the entire distribution process with real-time data in a cloud environment – helping to improve order accuracy and operational efficiency. Mobile software also helps retailers eliminate OS&Ds, cut paper-processing costs, and improve revenue cycles.

The competition in the high-end retail space is fierce. Ensuring the “perfect” order through an automated supply chain is a cost-effective way to serve these customers without risking a loss in profit, giving your business a competitive edge.

Thanks,

I wanted to share an interesting report that was recently released by the National Retail Federation (NRF) Foundation and KPMG LLP, which surveyed 247 retail executives from various sectors.

The study revealed that 2012 will be a very important year for improving customer service. Nearly 67 percent of companies ranked customer satisfaction as the top strategic initiative for 2012 and, similarly, 82 percent said customer service strategies is a top priority this year.

Retailers have also indicated that top strategic initiatives for 2012 will include ecommerce, store and field operations, supply chain and human capital, among others.

Customer service is an extremely important aspect of every business and if not taken seriously, can have serious effects on the success of a company. I am glad to see that more retailers are making customer service a top priority.

We work with leading retailers across the country to help improve customer service, among many other things. Staples – the second largest Internet retailer in the world – has been recognized every year since 2005 by J.D. Powers and Associates for providing an “Outstanding Customer Service Experience,” due in part to the company’s ability to ensure order perfection and superior customer satisfaction, through technology such as Airclic’s Order Perform product.

Has your company started any new customer service initiatives this year? Tell us about them below.

Thanks,

Mike

Happy New Year! We hope your holidays were filled with joy, family and laughter. This holiday season, Airclic was proud to once again, support the Air Charity Network, an amazing organization that arranges flights for people in need of medical care, as well as flights for military families and disaster response missions.

Did you know, every 24 minutes a child or adult in need is being flown through the generous volunteer and donor resources of the Air Charity Network? In fact, approximately 90 percent of all non-emergency charitable flights in the U.S. are coordinated through Air Charity. The team at Airclic is happy to support such a great cause and happy that friends of Airclic were able to help us do so.

Because the Air Charity Network relies solely on donations, we encourage you to learn more about the work they do at www.aircharitynetwork.org.

Thanks again for being a part of the Airclic family and we look forward to another successful year together!

Annual Donation Helps Support Families in Need of Flights to Specialized Healthcare Facilities

Trevose, PA – January 10, 2012 – Airclic, a global provider of software that transforms the accuracy, efficiency and competitiveness of mobile supply chain and logistics operations, today announced that it has made its fourth annual donation, on behalf of its customers, to the Air Charity Network, providing access for people in need to specialized health care facilities or destinations due to family, community or national crisis.

“Our team understands the importance of turning business success into charitable community work,” said Mike Lee, CEO, Airclic. “We are honored to be able to provide the Air Charity Network with this donation as a token of our admiration and appreciation for the commendable work that they do each and every day for families in need.”

The Air Charity Network arranges flights for people in need of medical care, as well as flights for military families and disaster response missions. Every 24 minutes a person is flown through the generous volunteer and donor resources of Air Charity Network, which is comprised of seven independent member organizations identified by specific geographical service areas.

“We are honored to, once again, be the recipients of Airclic’s holiday donation,” said Larry Camerlin, President of Angel Flight Northeast and member of Air Charity Network. “Because passengers are never charged for flights and our organization exists solely through donations, the ongoing generosity from donors like Airclic is truly what allows Air Charity to continue to help those in need.”

Happy New Year! It’s a great time to be making resolutions in both your personal and professional life. We went ahead and identified a few resolutions to consider for your business operations this year:

1) Remove Paper

Companies can save up to $400 per truck, per month by removing paper and paper processing costs from the delivery process, and reducing delivery errors by more than 65 percent. That is significant cost savings to a company’s bottom line over the course of one year.

2) Reduce Mistakes

Keep your customers happy by ensuring that they get what they ordered, when they ordered it each and every time. The cost of credits and lost items can really add up, but the cost of a customer is tremendous. Make sure you’re mistake-free with functionalities such as proof of delivery and signature capture.

3) Work faster

Automate cumbersome paper-based processes, increase communication and streamline operations with mobile technology. Doing your job faster will increase customer retention and save money for your business.

How will your company be improving its supply chain this year? Leave us a comment below.

Thanks!

Annual FL100 listing highlights leading software and technology providers

Trevose, PA — December 15, 2011 — Airclic, a global provider of software that transforms the accuracy, efficiency and competitiveness of mobile supply chain and logistics operations, today announced it was included on the eighth-annual FL100 listing by Food Logistics Magazine, the only publication dedicated exclusively to the grocery and foodservice distribution supply chain.

Each year, the editors of Food Logistics recognize 100 software and technology providers that better enable grocery and foodservice distributors and manufacturers to realize their business goals. This year, the publication focused on solution providers that are helping their customers differentiate themselves in the marketplace, while simultaneously facilitating improved safety and traceability throughout the supply chain.

“With the passage of the FDA’s landmark Food Safety and Modernization Act, the entire food and beverage sector is under increased pressure to improve safety and traceability throughout the supply chain. In addition, the ongoing globalization of food supply chains demands closer collaboration with suppliers and enhanced visibility from farm to fork,” notes Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief at Food Logistics. “Technology is a powerful tool that can ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and serve as a market differentiator in today’s highly competitive environment.”

“As the FDA continues to pass new regulations and enhanced supply chain visibility becomes even more imperative, the entire food industry will need to adapt to the changing landscape, and the FL100 is an excellent resource for the industry on the leading technology available,” said Mike Lee, CEO of Airclic. “Our Cloud-based mobile supply chain software, Food Perform®, provides foodservice distributors with complete visibility into their operations – allowing them to trace products, reduce costs and gain a competitive advantage in the evolving market.”

The FL100 recipients are featured in the November/December 2011 issue of Food Logistics, as well as online at www.foodlogistics.com.

Great news! Food Logistics Magazine has selected Airclic for inclusion in the 2011 FL100 Listing, which highlights software and technology providers that allow grocery and foodservice distributors and manufacturers to realize their business goals.

This year, the publication focused on solution providers that are helping their customers differentiate themselves in the marketplace, while simultaneously facilitating improved safety and traceability throughout the supply chain, in wake of the passing of the Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA).

FSMA has played a key role in the food industry this past year, as companies are now searching for new ways to increase visibility into their supply chains to ensure their products are being delivered fresh and safe for consumers. Companies are looking to advanced mobile supply chain technologies to trace items through the entire distribution process, in an effort to prevent spoilage and also meet compliance standards. Mobile software, such as Airclic’s Food Perform®, is a key solution for the future of the food industry.
