FreshDirect Selects AirClic to Mobilize Its Grocery Delivery Process

Innovative Online Grocer Using AirClic to Track Deliveries, Ensuring Accurate Orders and Customer Satisfaction

TREVOSE, PA, June 16, 2008—AirClic®, a leading provider of business process mobilization solutions, today announced FreshDirect, a New York-based online grocer, has selected AirClic as the mobility platform of choice to facilitate the tracking of its grocery delivery orders from its warehouse facility to customers’ doorsteps. FreshDirect, which touts the ability to deliver directly to customers “the freshest, best-tasting, lowest-priced food around,” is using AirClic-enabled cell phones to track orders throughout the delivery process to increase customer satisfaction, ensure timely deliveries, and resolve real-time issues, such as traffic, misrouted drivers, and delivery inaccuracies in real-time.

FreshDirect needed to replace its manual delivery tracking process with a more powerful automated process that tracked orders during delivery. This was a critical need for a company where on-time and accurate delivery is of the utmost importance, particularly since FreshDirect is in an industry that traditionally experiences daily and seasonal peaks and valleys in orders. Given these requirements, FreshDirect selected AirClic MP 5 for its 400 drivers across a fleet of 130 trucks to use on their Sprint Nextel cell phones.

With the initial implementation complete, FreshDirect is in the process of rolling out the second phase of the implementation to include AirClic’s advanced reporting capabilities to look at more real-time data to further hone its delivery process.
