Leading provider of digital document management technology and services deploys AirClic MP™ to improve parts inventory tracking
NEWTOWN, Pa., August 22, 2005— AirClic®, a leading provider of mobile process automation and optimization solutions, announced today that Océ North America ( Océ), a leading provider of digital document management technology and services, has selected AirClic MP™ to streamline its parts inventory tracking. When fully deployed, up to 1,000 Océ service technicians will use AirClic MP™ to record shipment and receipt and return of service parts in the field.
Océ enables customers to manage their documents efficiently and effectively by offering innovative print and document management products and services for professional environments. Currently, 50 Océ Service Technicians are using standard mobile phones equipped with small scanning attachments (based on a proprietary AirClic design) to scan bar codes on each part and transmit the data to a central server. Representing different steps in the company’s part receipt and part return processes, the data scanned will travel over the wireless network to AirClic’s secure servers before being downloaded into the Océ parts inventory database.
“Our service organization is well-automated, but we were looking for a complementary solution that would allow us to better track service parts. I wanted something that was easy to use and didn’t require retraining our staff,” said Dan Krzesinski, senior vice president of service, Océ North America. “AirClic works well for us because we are able to improve our control over our parts inventory without a major investment in yet another device.”
“It is exciting to see an industry leader like Océ leverage the AirClic solution in critical areas of their field service operations. We are committed to a strong long-term relationship with Océ and will work closely with their deployment team to ensure a successful rollout ,” said Tim Bradley, chief executive officer of AirClic.
