Vinyl window manufacturer will save $500,000 per year through mobile process automation
NEWTOWN, Pa., October 3, 2005—AirClic®, a leading provider of mobile process automation and optimization solutions, announced today that Silver Line Windows has selected AirClic MP™ to provide real-time tracking of product delivery and improved communication with drivers, with projected initial cost savings of $500,000 and, more importantly, better customer service.
The industry-leading manufacturer of vinyl windows and doors in the United States, Silver Line Windows currently employs over 7,000 people at facilities in New Jersey, Illinois, Georgia, Ohio, Texas, North Carolina and Massachusetts. Since 1947, Silver Line has been committed to developing and manufacturing the highest quality, most innovative vinyl windows and doors possible. The company’s major customers include Home Depot, 84 Lumber and Norandex.
With a mission to improve customer service, Silver Line Windows rolled out AirClic MP to 225 drivers, in eight different plants and cities, over a span of only eight weeks. Using AirClic MP, all orders are scanned by Silver Line drivers as they are unloaded at the customer site, allowing Silver Line to accurately invoice customers as well as record and process backorders at the time of delivery. Silver Line Windows estimates it will save $500,000 per year with its new, paperless system improving the accuracy of backorder processing and inventory.
“AirClic helped us create a training manual and, on average, it took only 10 to 20 minutes to train each driver. The implementation itself was straightforward, too. We had a few of our drivers test-drive the competitive products and they all preferred AirClic,” said John Keller, vice president of logistics at Silver Line Windows. “Ultimately, we selected AirClic because they met all of our goals, the upfront investment was low, and the fast turnaround of a customized solution met our requirements and helped us to be up-and-running quickly.”
“Silver Line Windows is at the forefront of the vinyl window market, recognized for its innovative engineering and design, and we are pleased that AirClic MP has helped them meet their business goals,” stated Tim Bradley, chief executive officer of AirClic. “Utilizing mobile phones equipped with AirClic solutions, companies today can reap the benefits of increased productivity and reduced costs, while simultaneously improving customer service.”AirClic is a registered trademark and AirClic MP is a trademark of AirClic, Inc. in the United States and/or other countries.
